Applying for a China visa in Lagos, step by step

For people living in Nigeria. Online form first, then the centre.

The pictures with the form and the Submit button use a test portal and a fictional specimen passport. The official site looks different, but the steps are the same.

  1. Open the right website

    www.visaforchina.cn, the Lagos centre. For people living in Nigeria.

    Tip: Type it or use the button on your Faylo page.

  2. Have these ready

    A CVASC account, regular passport, trip details and documents.

  3. Your details fill in

    Name, passport and trip details appear on each page.

  4. The personal questions are yours

    Yes/no questions and 'I certify' boxes stay empty and highlighted.

    Tip: Answer them yourself, truthfully.

  5. Know the fee and the wait

    You pay the visa fee at the centre. Apply about 3 months ahead.

    Tip: Optional extras at the centre cost more. You don't have to buy them.

  6. Then, outside the form

    Go to the Lagos centre with your passport, fingerprints and fee.

    Tip: Wait for 'Passport to be submitted' before you go.

  7. You pay and press Submit

    We never do. Keep the confirmation.

    Tip: Keep your application number for the centre.
