Angola visa for South African passport holders
South African passport holders don't need a visa for Angola
Visa-free stays are up to 30 days. Longer stays, work and study usually need a visa.
Heads up: Angola's official eVisa portal says citizens of a list of countries (including South Africa, Botswana, Mauritius, Namibia and Mozambique) can visit for tourism without a visa for up to 30 days per entry and 90 days a year. Everyone else applies online; the portal quotes 72-hour processing and asks for a passport valid 6 months, a yellow fever certificate, a return ticket and accommodation. We couldn't read the full exempt list, so check evisa.ao for your passport.
What you'll typically need
- A passport valid for at least six months from the day you arrive, with blank pages
- Proof of onward or return travel
- A yellow fever vaccination certificate โ many African countries ask for it, especially if you've been in an affected country
Typical requirements, not a guarantee โ the destination decides.
Individual passport results come from Passport Index data as of February 2026. Faylo hasn't yet checked Angola against its government's own site. Rules change, so always check the official source before you pay or book. Faylo is not an embassy or immigration adviser.

Questions
Do South African citizens need a visa for Angola?
South African passport holders don't need a visa for Angola. Visa-free stays are up to 30 days. Longer stays, work and study usually need a visa. Confirm on Angola eVisa portal (Migration and Foreigners Service) before you pay or book, because entry rules change.
Should I use an agent to get a Angola visa?
Only if you want someone to handle the paperwork for you. Government fees are the same whether or not you use an agent, and agents add their own fee on top โ sometimes more than the visa itself. Check that the government fee is listed separately and avoid agents who ask for payment to a personal account.
